Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak


Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon Wozniak has served county citizens since December 2002. Tina replaced popular, former commissioner William (Bill) Copeland when Bill retired after many years of dedicated public service. In November 2004, the citizens of Lucas County elected Commissioner Skeldon Wozniak to a full four-year term. In January 2005, she was unanimously elected the President of the Board of Lucas County Commissioners.

Commissioner Wozniak began her public service career in 1997, when she joined Toledo City Council as the District 5 Representative; Commissioner Wozniak spent five years on city council. While a member of council, Commissioner Wozniak chaired the Economic Development, Housing and Neighborhood Development, Health and Community Relations Committee and served on several other standing committees.

Commissioner Wozniak taught core curriculum classes for three years as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Toledo. Commissioner Wozniak has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Ohio State University.

Commissioner Wozniak’s professional career over the last quarter-century includes 15 years as a social worker and educator at the Toledo Hospital, several years as a guardianship investigator for adoption cases in Lucas County Probate Court, counselor and case manager with the women offenders program at the Lucas County Correctional Center, and Director of youth programs for the American Diabetes Association.
