HEALTH ADVISORY: TOLEDO-LUCAS COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT SPONSORS FLU CLINICS FOR ADULTS

The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is offering flu clinics during the months of October and November for individuals meeting the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) criteria. The criteria set by the ODH is high-risk individuals including individuals 65 years of age and older, people with chronic illnesses and women who are pregnant during the flu season. The clinics will be held at various sites throughout the county during the months of October and November. Flu vaccinations at these clinics will be on a first come first serve basis. 2006 Flu Clinic Schedule. The price of the flu vaccine is $20.00. Pneumonia vaccine will also be available for persons 65 or older who have not had one in the last five years. Others who wish to receive the pneumonia vaccine must bring a doctor’s prescription. Cost of that vaccine is $40.00. We will bill Medicare (Part B), Medicaid, and Buckeye Community Health and Paramount Insurance plans. For all others, payment will need to be by cash or check (no credit cards) and a receipt will be provided for insurance reimbursement. Clinics are based on receipt of vaccine.
